Dr. Lyon specializes in the assessment and development of leadership potential. She leverages global best practices and her deep experience to conduct thorough and accurate assessments of existing and future talent, which can then be used to make well-informed hiring and promotion decisions. Her refined process swiftly identifies the most effective ways to onboard, develop, and grow a leader.

Experience

Dr. Lyon has extensive experience conducting leadership development activities in a multitude of industries including financial services, utilities, manufacturing, high-tech, and entertainment. She understands that focused effort can create significant change and uses her knowledge of personality and behavioral science to provide specific, targeted solutions. Her experience includes designing and implementing solutions in both private and public sectors.

Dr. Lyon’s deepest expertise is in individual assessment and leadership coaching. She is also highly skilled in broader solutions such as competency modeling, and developing selection, leadership development, change management, and succession planning systems. She is frequently involved in both the design and implementation of the system as well as providing the coaching to participants within the program. This participation in both the design and implementation allows her to provide seamless service and the needed wisdom to leverage the system and the people within it.

Prior to founding Candeo, Dr. Lyon worked for specialized firms, large global companies, and for a private equity firm where she assessed CEOs. Her experience in this range of environments and with such a variety of clients gives her a unique ability to swiftly understand client cultures and situations.

EDUCATION AND AFFILIATIONS

Dr. Lyon graduated with honors in Psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana and earned a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Portland State University in Oregon. She has traveled extensively and spent time studying and living in France.

Dr. Lyon has presented on topics such as ROI of leadership development, succession planning, personality assessment, 360-degree feedback, and leadership derailment. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Society of Consulting Psychology.
